Enabling works on new development sites typically begin with vegetation clearance, preparing the land for secure hoarding and safe access ahead of construction.
On this project, we deployed a full range of specialist machinery including forestry mulchers, flail mowers, hedge cutters, chainsaws, tree shears, grapple saws and excavators. Works focused on removing roadside hedging at the site entrance, along with clearing dense woody scrub within the wider development footprint.
The removed hedging and woody scrub was processed on site using forestry mulching equipment, reducing vegetation to a fine mulch. This sustainable approach eliminated the need for burning or off-site waste removal, minimised lorry movements, and reduced environmental impact.
Prior to commencement, we submitted comprehensive Health & Safety Method Statements and Risk Assessments in line with UK regulations. We also advised the client on current legislation relating to hedge cutting and nesting bird season, ensuring works were completed within the permitted timeframe and fully compliant with environmental guidelines.
